a Car Holder kit that I'm using for HTC Touch Diamond + Horizontal Case - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV Accessories

I have just received a car holder and horizontal case from Hong Kong, I would like share with you.
Car Holder; perfectly match with my diamond. But it has two line right-left sides. may be, it makes some very small scratch both side of diamond. kit has also a charger.
Horizontal case also good for me.
I'm happy with them, i can recommend.

Desktop Dock Options

So, what are the best options for Desktop Docks for the Desire?
I've taken a look at a few but I can't seem to find any that would fit the desire once a casemate case was applied or any similar case which adds a few mm.
Are there any Docks out there that accommodate for this or are there any generic phone docks that would accommodate the desire in a case?
Nothing that i'm aware off.
there all catered for a stock handset (No cover/case attached)
Thanks for replying ICO (appreciate it).
Yer I was of the same mindset, I've ordered one off ebay (cant link as account is new sadly) as it appears to have a fair amount of gap between the device and the base looking at the images (probably just a dream) so will update when I get it but thats my thoughts as well.
Worth a try at any rate, Worse to worse ill just remove case and dock if its easy enough...
So I got my case and I'm happy to say that it fits the desire perfectly with the casemate case attached! (I'm sure someone will be looking for this information - probably).
Case I purchased was ebay item number: 110538892428
Dock I purchased was ebay item number: 110539991508
(Sorry can't post urls as new account here)
Hope this helps someone else out there, I'm not sure as to whether it would fit a bigger case three is a tiny bit of room once I have the casemate case applied but you might be pushing it at the bottom.
I've orderd the dock also, I'll let you know if it fits with my case. Got a Gel case btw
edit: I'll receive it within 2 weeks can't wait
I've received the dock.
Without a skin it fits perfectly and the build quality is quite good.
But because my desire has a skin i had to modify it a bit. If trimed away some plastic so it would fit and connect to the connector. Because of the skin the connecter couldn't go deep enough inside the slot to connect it.
I'll post some pic's if any 1 is intresseted

Added URLs for you nice people
I've just (today!) taken delivery of this - http://www.expansys.com/d.aspx?i=199195 and it is an excellent desk top cradle at a good price. The rear port is mini-USB, so you can charge and sync, or just use the HTC charger from the mains with a mini-USB lead if you just want to top up the battery. The cradle is nice and firm, and the transparent backplate holds the device securely so that using the phone doesn't strain the micro-USB connection. Good product!
But does it fit with the case-mate?
Also Flitjes do you have those photos with case on?

I bought a dock off ebay (looks like the Proporta Dock) but I found the blue LED far too bright at night, it lit up the room so I decided to modify the dock and move the LED to just behind the plastic holder - this allows it to be nice and blue when the phone is out but when the phone is docked the edges of the plastic glow nicely at night with no bright ambient light. I have attached two pictures of the original and two of the modified. (not one of the phone in the dock as im using it to take the photos!)

I think ill be getting one of these offa flea bay in afew days, for now my desk at work is fine and back home i have an Xtand Rotatable Holder,,, mainly used with my iPhone but sadly no more, fits well enough mind

Looking for a car dock solution that doesn't require me taking my holster skin off.

I use the Verizon stock rubberized holster case. It has two parts. One is a holster that clips on your belt, and the second part is a rubberized "back" that clips onto the back of the phone. This makes it impossible to fit in the Samsung Car Dock without having to take this back off every time I get into the car, which is a PITA.
Has anyone found a solution for a Car Dock and Belt Clip that isn't a PITA? I'd settle for just a universal cell phone mount that would hold my Fascinate in a landscape orientation and then just manually plug in my good ol' car charger.
I picked up this one, its quite good in my opinion.

I'm in a similar situation. Until Seidio releases their no skin holster, I'll be using this in my car: http://www.proclipusa.com/brodit-de...ces-with-or-without-a-skin-875214A-13978.aspx. It's pricy for your first phone, but I've used that exact holster and the same mount for 3+ years (initially cost me $70). Well worth the investment in my opinion. Proclip is also releasing a custom holster for the Fascinate just like they have for the Vibrant and Captivate. (see my e-mail below). Also, I know you want something that can go landscape. This holster can definitely go landscape, you just have to make sure you adjust the holster to be a really snug fit and it'll work no problem (the holster can swivel 360 degrees around).
Hello,
Thank you for contacting us. The new holders for the Fascinate will be available in approx 4 weeks. You will be notified by email as soon as we have them in stock.

I received the above e-mail on September 20th, so I'd imagine they should be ready soon!
Edit: Forgot to mention... What makes this setup so great is that you never have to buy a new mount, you can just buy a new holster for whatever phone/device you buy next. The mount is custom made for your specific car. If you can't tell, I love proclip's products lol. I bought a setup for my wife's iPhone as soon as I realized how convenient and safe it is (it mounts right up by the steering wheel in her '07 civic).

[Q] Handson Mazda 6 handsfree/holder ?

I am getting my new car - a 2004 Mazda 6 with a bluetooth parrot installed so that part should be taken care of...
However when i need to use the satnav on the phone i need a holder that FITS the MAzda 6 dash..
I have had a look at the Brodit holders - either they block the info screen of the Mazda or they cover the air vents - both of which is a great big 'no' from my point of view.
Has anyone inhere got a Mazda 6 and have a cradle they would recommend that doesent look like cheap crap or something out of a horror movie ?
It it ok that it is a universal holder as the missus got a Wildfire - so if it could hold that as well - that would give me wife points so a passive holder is probably what i am looking for.
So - anyonme with actual experience with anything that looks good ?
I use a Clingo Universal Car Phone Mount in my Lexus IS250. It doesn't look too bad. It holds the wife's DHD in a silicone case. It says it won't work on silicone based cases but it does. And I use mine without a case and it works perfect.
Also should the "pad" lose it's stickiness just run under hot water and rub with your finger, dry it and it's as good as new.
This is definately one to consider!
I was looking for something more permanent though that could be installed somewhere on the dash. If that is not possible - then this is the one i will get...
Thank you for your reply
I was looking for exactly the same, this was purely an interim purchase. But It works very well and isn't limited to a particular handset model, so for me it's a keeper.
it's really nice thing
Ok it's ordered from ebay...lets see if it's as good as the video claims (never seems to be the case but lets try it anyways)
I think I got mine for about £16 off ebay.
I had similar issues with Brodit's ProClips in that the one they sold for my 2005 MG ZS didn't actually fit anywhere like what their installation diagrams suggested.
I found DashMount, however, who manufacture similar style mounts, but out of more solid metal sheeting and often in totally different locations to Brodit's mounting.
Have a look at this:
http://www.dashmount.co.uk/index.ph...applicable-with-dealer-fitted-CD-upgrade.html
Alright - so i recieved the Clingo universal hands-free mount - and what a load of ####!
It simply cannot hold the DHD if i have the cig plug charger plugged in it - it falls out of the holder within 2 minutes.
So that was 15£ wasted
Seriously?
Does it fall off the green pad? I've yet to have it fall off the pad. Sometimes it sticks that firmly I struggle getting it off. And is that with your case on?
It could be that the wife's case isn't silicone.
i dont have a silicone case on - it's just the bare phone and nothing more.
I have not yet tried with the wifes wildfire
3 seperate times the phone fell off the holder - and all 3 times it was when i had the charger plugged in. If i leave the charger out i think it can hold it - but then i dont have any more power left on the phone if/when i drive listening to music and using satnav etc
So i think im looking again for a holder that has some gripping arms of some sort - maybe an active holder - i dunno yet...
This clingo holder is not in the glove box - and it stays there...
Hello there,
I bought / use this holder. It perfectly fits the phone, sadly without any type of case. It can be rotated 360 degrees. It can also be found without the gooseneck holder, or with a fixed arm. It has holes for the camera, flash and speaker. The suctioncup is amazing, it is sticking on the windshield for almost a month now. The only anoying thing about the gooseneck is that it bounces around alot because of the weight of the phone. Probably the fixed arm is better but I had no choise.
Good Luck,
Ivan.
I have found an inexpensive and very reliable one that I have been using with my Nokia 6120 classic to my HTC Desire HD 40mm to 110mm adjustment.
http://factorydirect.ca/catalog/product_spec.php?pcode=KR0005

Now the one I have is exactly the same but I got it from Media Markt in Germany and it has been with me no less than 10 times across the pond. Thus far its been perfect BUT it is not wide enough for landscape mode unless I rotate the whole thing.

Z5 Compact car holder

Has anyone lucked out and managed to find a car holder for the Z5C?
Been looking around without success.

I used their product with my last phone and it was a very nice and clean solution. Not affiliated in any way with them...

I use this holder: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00R0MELU6?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00
It is not made specifically for the Z5C. And the one major drawback for some people is that you have to put a permanent metal plate on the back of your phone. For that reason, I have added a Balolo wooden back. The metal plate is attached to the wood, allowing me to remove the plate (actually, the wood) without damage to the phone. The Mountek advertising says you can simply put the unattached metal plate between the phone and a typical case. However, with a previous phone I found that there's just enough movement of the metal to scratch the back of the phone, so I don't recommend that approach.
This is not the perfect answer, but after trying many different car phone holders I have been most satisfied with the Mountek. The magnet does a super job, even on the back country roads in Costa Rica. Mountek is planning to release an air vent version by the end of December, if the CD version doesn't work for you (or you use your CD player).
Hope this helps.

Thanx for the suggestion, but from where i'm living, spending upwards of a hundred dollars for a phone holder is unviable to me. Nice solution, just a tad pricey.

Looks like I'll be waiting for the air vent version to come out. Or until I find a better alternative. Thank you anyways
I'm using this: http://www.amazon.com/Breffo-Spiderpodium-Smartphone-Mount-Holder/dp/B003O1V5CY
I've bent the two of the arms to hook into an air vent and then bent the remaining six with 2 on the bottom and 4 on the sides. I've bent them in a way where I can mount the phone vertically and horizontally. When mounted vertically, the microUSB power cable plugs in nicely between the two legs.

Hello, I've came across this solution as well, how long have you had this product and how durable are the flexible 'legs'?
I shied away from it as I saw a couple of negative reviews stating that the 'legs' broke off just after a few uses.
Cheers!
I've had this setup for a couple years now with no issues. I don't really mess with it once it's in place. I do occasionally bend everything to make a stand so I can record time lapse recordings of my drives.

There is also a mountek version that doesn't use magnets. Its the Mountek Grip.
i use http://slipgripcarmounts.com
I use the Orzly bumper case which didnt quite fit. I sent him the case and the guy made a new mold for me which now fits. I think each one is made by hand by order. So if you do order, I'd email them first with what case you are using. They may offer to make one for you if you send them the case.
You can use also a original Nokia car holder cr-122 for the old Nokia N8-00. Is perfect to use for all Compact series with or without case (I'm using also with Puro 0.3 and Orzly fusion).
In my case I've customized the holder to attach to Brodit Proclip specific adapter for my car

I've just ordered my z5c (upgrading from z1c).
I have one of these handstraps attached to my phone case, and the elastic slips over the rear view mirror. I keep the phone over to one side so I can still use the mirror. Simple, cheap, and easy to keep your eyes on the road.

Kenu Airframe.
Here's the first video review that came up on google:

I am (again) very happy with this brodit mount: http://www.brodit.com/product.html?id=521797&pn=prod&brand=Sony&model=Xperia Z5 Compact
Not necessary to attach the charging cable to the mounted phone is very nice. And the brodit fits perfectly (without any case).
I have been using a number of different car holders from cheap to rather expensive stuff (not just for Z5C)
and until now the best working for me is this universal
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-C...hash=item3f6716f952:m:mIwx2zz-h8VTQe568OmV9tA
It solves the problem when phone placed behind the front screen gets warm by sun and you need to charge it at the same time.
Air vent does the cooling and the problem is gone.

I love the Kenu Airframe design, and it's worked in every car I've tried too. Very compact design that sticks into air vents and grips the sides of the phone (right above the power button is ideal). Also note that there are knock off cheap versions that you can find, such as from Deal Extreme, that seem to work just as well, at least with our compact phones
I only use a cardboard attached to the air vents up the radio. haha~ I'll post a picture sometime.
Is there anybody out there who has their Z5 Compact wrapped in a full body skin (wet apply type) who also has the Proclip mount for the Z5c, and can verify that the phone fits in the mount with the skin installed?
This turned out to be a real problem for me with my Nexus 4...the Proclip mold was not made with a millimeter to spare, and the tolerances were such that it had NO tolerance for anything but a completely naked phone. Hoping I can avoid a similar problem with the Z5c.
Thanks,
-- Nathan

I have a mount that works awesome from my car. I paid $3 and waited for 1 month for delivery.

If you are willing to be patient the cost of the car mounts on aliexpress are very cheap, you have very similar options that you see here on the thread.
I use this one:

Love it! The magnet is very strong and it's easy adjustable.

Brodit car cradle

For every phone I owned in the past, I had an active cradle in mijn car. This allows me to charge while driving, and it is very useful for displaying heavy traffic and mobile police speed checks.
For the Moto X Play, no luck. Brodit did not seem to have a holder, neither they are keen on starting producing one. I asked politely by sending an e-mail, only to receive a "thank you" and an advise to keep checking their site because they might pick on the idea. No such luck.
This week I ordered the active holder for the Moto X Style : http://www.brodit.com/product.html?id=513787. Just because I was fed up waiting and fed up not being able to have traffic info at hand ni my car. The Style has the same form factor as the play, but it is 1.2 mm wider. The connector seemed to be in an adequate spot, but the Style is thicker so picture-guessing it is the best I could do.
Well, the unit arrived today. I solved the 1.2 mm difference with black insulating tape. This can be obtained from your local hardware store. 2 layers on both sides hold my Moto X Play nicely. Also, the connector is spot on! I tried charging using a 12V adapter and it worked!
So, if you want a car holder for your Play, buy one from Brodit and stick a few layers of tape onto it.
I also use to get a brodit cradle for my smartphones and , personnaly , for the MXP , I got the reference 511230 which you can adjust and i stuck a small block on the cradle for the phone not to move . I 'm happy with that and can use the cigar power supply with it.
I guess I was to impatient...
I had a Brodit holder in my car for my Navigon PND. Since that broke down (just 4 years old) I am using my Moto X Play for navigation. I had a sheet of 1 mm thick aluminium lying around, and two Neodymium magnets (from the packaging of my previous pone, HTC Touch HD ). I used that, and a cable with a 90 degree angled micro-USB connector to create a holder for my Moto X Play. The holder is coated with Motip Dupli Sprayplast (matte black)..
A thin piece of metal cut out of a can, inserted between the battery and the back cover, makes the phone stick to the magnets. Bumpy roads are no problem.
