Nope you can't - They all HTC handhelds.
For me it has to be Polaris( I use Artemis already)
I am however tempted by the Omni - as the ultimate convergence handheld
ill only get the kaiser if it has the 1700mhz and 2100mhz bands that can work with tmo us 3g.
Well I had my eye on the Nike since I saw it on www.pdadb.com
Funny that their picture looks better than HTC's (it is still Photoshop).
Though now I am considering getting the Neo 1973 (I know not HTC device) and waiting with my Jamin for something better from HTC (maybe next gen OS based on CE 6)
I know the Neo is at least 3 years backwards hardware wise (no 3G / camera / WiFi) but it just sound like developers heaven.
You can even get a debug board for an extra 150$ but that kind of low level tweaking is beyond my abilities.
yeah but i think that nike pic is older then
the one in the later roadmaps so it could look
like htc changed their design
my next HTC device
maybe an HTC S730 (HTC Wings / Volans)
HTC OMNI
This is indeed a very nice device. The main problem is that the processor is really slow according to the specs.
By the way, is this device for real? I certainly don't think so. Let's all focus on the Imate 7150..
Definitely the Kaiser (the AT&T Tilt version of it)! The wait has been too long already!
I agree with the Nike or Polaris.
Also, the Juno for AT&T is coming out which is basically the VOX with 3G.
I just got myself a Touch. It's a bit of a girl's phone, but works well and is cute.
It's not a power phone, but then, it does everything I need it to, and I need it to do a lot [I wear a suit all day, and hate having my suit pocket dangle down when I'm carrying my Hermes. So the Touch is my "day" phone]
Kaiser will be fun, but there are too many new (chunky) HTCs coming out now, it's almost impossible to stay on top of all of them. But they really need to get VGA into their pocket sized phones. Anything else is just bells and whistles right now.
A Touch with VGA, GPS and a slider keyboard would be lovely.
But then again, so would conjugal visits from Winona Ryder, and that's not happening either right now.

The Imate 7150 has been cancelled, the Omni looks to be a year away and will not feature a 400mhz processor but at least a 520mhz.
Personally I've been waiting for nearly 2 years for a replacement for my Universal, and the Kaiser is the one I'm going for.
To me Polaris sounds like the next one but worth waiting also for HP Ipaq 600 or 900

The cancellation of the Imate 7150 is rumor. You can check int the Web. Anyhow Imate7150 and HTC omni is Great Devices!(on the spec list)
However I am little concern of Imate 7150 it is the first device in such they will produce. In other hand HTC has already collected enough experiences with HTC Universal which is clearly great Device therefore I think Omni will be better choice. Well we wait to see how they come up.
Anyhow both Devices are "communicators" and sometimes size matter. Definitely vijay is right, they are not nice to carry them on your belt or in your pocket.
My dream Would be: HTC Polaris spec device ( 3.5" VGA is must) + clamshell (like by Uni) + keyboard + external small display, And All this packed in 100mm X 65mm X 18mm

Polaris or Kaiser???

Hello,
I want to buy a new PDAphone and i hesitate between HTC kaiser and touch cruise.
An important point for me is the customisation from developers.
I've seen that Kaiser has very much customised roms, tweaks... Very interesting and attracting for me !!!
I expect this will be the same for Polaris...
My question is : do you think there will be much developers for HTC touch Cruise, like with Kaiser ? Because actually there are very few resources for Touch Cruise and no customised roms...
If Kaiser interests many community developers, even in long term I'll buy it.
But if Touch Cruise (polaris) is promitted to the same future that Kaiser for optimisations (roms...), I prefer buying Touch Cruise.
SO what do you think?
Thank you and sorry for my english, i'm french
Hi there, the only reason there are not many customisations / hacks for the polaris / touch cruise, is because it's so new. If you have a read through this forum, you'll see we're all awaiting the first cooked rom.
The Polaris has only been released recently, so don't expect everything in first month or so... The Kaiser community had time to develop.
The bugs are being wokred out and tweaks are being found as we post on this forum.
But the first cooked ROMs are arriving soon, so if yo don't need the slide-out keyboard, the the Polaris is a must
Thanks for your answers, effectively I don't want to pay 100€ more for a slide-out keyboard because I don't write emails, I use only SMS. Keyboard of my previous HTC S710 (Vox) was great but a touch keyboard is perfect for me.
Two things are scaring me with Polaris:
- The problem of sound volume and quality:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=360650
My phone will be my only MP3 player and I use this fonction several hours a day, so I want a good sound and great volume, especially with my Koss headphones (I have a mini usb --> jack adaptator).
If this problem isn't fixed, i will regret to buy Touch Cruise...
- And the problem of video driver, i know HTC Kaiser also have it and it is annoying...
On the sound issue, my personal oppinion differs from that thread... I don't have any issues whith the sound... maybe the external speaker is a bit quiet, but the headset feels great
And yes. The driver... the chipsets RAW power makes it fairly useable, and even faster is some cases than the competitors...
I didn't regret buying it, but still, if you can try it out before buying.
I see that HTC Kaiser has a great success with developers:
On XDA, there are 90 000 Posts for Kaiser and 33 000 for HTC Elf (touch), and the Kaiser is more recent than the Touch !
So do you think that developers will prefere in the future customising Artemis or Kaiser? Do you think that Polaris will be so much tweaked that Kaiser is actually or will be, or do you think that Artemis will have less success than Kaiser?
I tell that question because the hardware of the 2 phones is the same, I like both models, and it will be the customisation (official roms, tweaked roms, tweaks...) that will made for me a real difference between the phones.
So which phone will have the best evolutivity and community support? HTC Touch Cruise or HTC Kaiser?
HTC Kaiser has a great potential, the numbers of messages and customisations about it are enormous on XDA developers (it attracts me very much) ! So, do you think that Polaris will have a comparable success, or would I do better to buy the kaiser ???
Thx in advance and sorry for my (i think) ugly english
Hi Rafael1000
You already know the answer to your question, but may be you are looking for someone to tell you.
Go on and get that Polaris sexy device, is much thinner than Kaiser, weight less, looks much better and by the time you get use to, you will have your new rom and else ready. You said it, you don't need the sliding keyboard, so why to carry one in your pocket!

HTC Diamond or At&t tilt?

I've had my Tilt for about 6 months now and I've finally got it the way I like it with all the software and stuff (thanks xda!), but now I have the opportunity to swap it for an HTC diamond. Should I do it? I don't know much about the Diamond and really dont have the time right now to look it up so I'm leaving it up to you guys. Btw incase it might help I use my phone for mostly 1) phone calls, 2) Wifi on my University campus , 3) Texting. Thanks for your help.
Unless it was an HTC Touch Diamond Pro then I wouldn't recommend it. Sure the Diamond has slightly better specs, but it lacks the nice tilting keyboard, but then again you can always do with the on-screen keyboard instead. Hers my take on it; I wouldn't buy a new HTC Touch Diamond to replace my HTC Tilt, but if I had the opportunity to swap it for free then I would go for it. Anyways hers a specification comparison between the two:
http://www.phonearena.com/htmls/compare_results.php?phones[]=2876&phones[]=2268
Dimond touch
speaking of it, does any one of you know if theresa plugin of some sort to make the Dxian X999+'s accelerometer work as the g sensor????
PS. this probably isn't the best place to post this but i need help
Thanks
for hat you your phone for they both work. only thing is your going to miss your keyboard. if you want both devices put in one try the htc raphael. has vga display and a keyboard. you loose features but gain some newer technology 3d drivers (but as you know kaiser is close to realeasing m3d ) I beleive the raphael has g sensors and it is has a vga display.
the whole point is he can SWAP for a diamond, he doesn't want to be told to spend $800 on a Touch Pro, as I'm sure he knows that it's essentially a combintion of them.
I would say keep the Tilt, youve got it perfect, I'm sure it runs fast enough for you, and the Diamond doesn't really have better specs at all (fake amount fo RAM)

Go For HTC Touch Diamond..!
Hi Mighty,

RAPH100 and RAPH300

HTC mades different models as indicated on the Wiki
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Raphael_WM6.1_ROMs
Other than the carrier differences, is there anything different between such as the RAPH100 and RAPH300?
I read a thread that seems to suggest they are different generations? Does that mean that HTC replaces RAPH100 with later versions RAPH300 when the become available or indicates that when RAPH300 has bugs fixed in earlier RAPH100?
i dont think so. i just think they are modeling for htc to know how the phone will be built for each carrier. like the us gsm version is raph110 and the cdma is raph800 and such. not meaning higher number = newer version. if you take your att fuze into a sprint/alltel store and compare it to the touch pro or vice-versa youll see the pieces to build them are different. and its just for htc to know what parts go to which phone. im not going to say i know this because i dont for sure.
As Jack inferred, it's most likely just to separate production batches. The biggest differences are probably just cosmetic -- whether the TouchPro has a glossy diamond back, a matte diamond back, or a smooth back; different keyboard layouts; and rounded (like Sprint) or squared (like Verizon) corners on the device. There are probably also ROM variations, but those owe more to carriers and their respective regions rather than any hardware difference.
I have a RAPH300 (T-Mobile MDA Vario iv) and i don't like the backside because the piece op perspex thats covering the camera lens get scratches very quick.
I expect the RAPH100 camera-lens cover much more scratch-resistant.
Also: I boucht a Bodit holder for the HTC Touch ro (landscape) and just because of the different backside my phone appears not to fit as good as I expected (based on experience with the MDA Vario I in its Brodit holder).
Does anyone know if the back cover of the RAPH100 (ie HTC Touch Pro) fits the RAPH300 (ie T-mobile MDA Vario iv)

What HTC to buy?

Hi all,
I don't know if it's the rigth forum section to write... but...
I had an HTC Wizard (QTek9100) with WM5.0... I use it to call (I synchronize my contact using gmail), write some SMS (very useful the qwert keyboard), play some game, and as navigator by TomTom sw and external GPS.
I would like to change it... and I'm interested (for the price also) to two different HTC phone: Diamond and Tattoo (HTC Click).
The price is about the same (diamond is slightly cheaper).
I think that Diamond is very good (above all for VGA display, but resistive), but I read that it has some battery problem.
Tattoo has more ram, no problem about battery, no limit about storage expansion, but a little resistive display (240x320 I think is the smallest resolution for a Android device).
Android make me curious, but I would like above all a device reliable for my standard operation (so the battery is important also)...
I would like to use it to navigate, but I hasn't a flat mobile connection yet (in my country our company are very slow to follow the people needs )... I hope to get a mobile flat in the next month.
I'm also a sw developer... so in the free time I would like to write some program for my phone... but... the free time is very scarce...
But...
What do you think abou my needs?
Is a good idea to buy a diamond, or a Tatto is better?
Thanks
Both are good devices and will cater for your needs, but my only question is why not go for a newer, more advanced device? (Obviously I realize cost is an issue)
Yes... you're right... I'm searching for a cheaper solution...
I'm worried for what I read about the diamond battery... and I think that Android can be interesting... but the Android display make me unhappy...
get a kaiser if you want cheap and good. they can be had for quite cheap. i will sell you mine for $110 plus shipping. but only if you are located in the usa.

Sorry... I'm in Italy.
If you are comming from a hardware keyboard device, you´ll find better going into same line...
You can think on Raphael or Rhodium (if $ is not a prob)
Let us know what you´ve got

I found the phones I spoke about at the same good price... and I'd like to choose one or the other...
In conclusion...
I prefear the Diamond, but I'm scaried for the battery duration and the finger usability... above all for the battery... but android seems to be a nice idea...
I was just in the same situation as you, I wanted a keyboard & budget would allow me to look at the touch pro 2. But I found the build quality on the new HTcs simply very poor so went backwards & settled for the Raphael which can be found cheap.
If you can find a Raphael in your budget I would go for it over the diamond. The diamond is a nice sized device but the d-pad is not the best, battery life is not the best but a lot of the big complainers have issues due to custom rom problems.
I had the Kaiser before, nice device, good battery life & superb build quality.
Diamond or Raphael would be my choices bang for buck !.

Really thanks for your suggestions.
Speaking about new phones (in the showcase of some shop) I found a Raphael. It's a little bit larger than diamond... and more expensive: 300 € vs 200 (for Diamond or Click).
Do you really think that HTC quality is decreased? So you think that Click are only an expensive toy?
Do you think that using a better battery I can solve the problem without make the phone very large?
i had the rapheal, and i loved it while i was using it. it was a huge improvement over my wing i will say tho the battery life did kinda suck but it didnt bother me that much, a car charger helped me with that i wouldnt go for the diamond just because it doesnt have a querty keyboard. i cant stand touch screen keyboards, so thats y i would go for the rapheal. another great device to look into that u could find cheap on craigslist or something would b the touch pro 2. i have that phone now. its got way better battery life then the rapheal. the keyboard is better to, the rapheal buttons are really small and it could b agravating sometimes. the touch pro 2 has a nice large touch screen display, tf3d seems alot more responsive, theres alot of nice stable roms available, from having both phones i can tell u that the touch pro 2 is deffinitly a faster more stable device with good battery life, and if all else fails u can run andriod on it too if i were u the touch pro 2 is prob only gonna b alil bit more then the rapheal and i can tell u that the extra 50 bucks will be well worth it good luck wih ur find

Thank you to.
However I bought the Diamond... I get in my hands Diamond and Click... and Click seems me a real toy.
Now I'm using the Diamond, but I'm not really satisfied: the UMTS signal is very low...
Try changing radio version, also check & update ROM if can.
You have a few options on battery upgrades from standard size with a little extra power to simply quite huge & twice the size of standard.
I think you will miss the keyboard.
Touch Pro 2 is more than 50bucks more than a Raphael ! the hardware is good but the build quality & style can be beat by ToyzRus !! Got 3 falling to bits in our office.
Good choice you made.
The diamond is an incredible device, and its quality is much better than the click.
Try the radio version found in my signature, it has good battery life and signals (such as umts and gps) are great. It's the most popular radio for the diamond.
For the keyboard, I suggest you download Fingerkeyboard, which is a very accurate keyboard. It works great on my diamond.
