thank you for your replay , i'v giust resolved it , if we select ''enable advance network functionality'' will have this problem .

Try this:
Go to Settings> Connections> USB to PC
And, un-check
Enable advanced network funtionality.
Note: This will also give you a connection icon on the today screen, near the battery icon.

Hi Babak,
When you sync your PPC through USB port via the Microsoft ActiveSync, it will show a sync connection icon at the lower right hand side on your screen of your PPC. At the bottom right hand side of your PPC. I am not sure, but I believe it is called the task bar.
You don't have to look now at the Microsoft ActiveSync to make sure if you are synced or not. If the icon is shown at your PPC, then your PPC ise properly synced with your PC.
Thanks again,
KOR™

Do it on your PC:
1- Click Start --> Run --> type "regedit"
2- Find on your registry brower HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows CE Services
3- Add a DWORD with name = "AllowLSP"
4- Set Default value = 0

Windows Mobile Device center (Vista) and Sync problem

Hello! It seems I have the first question with my XDA Exec…
It connects to the PC without problem and I can see it on Windows Explorer (Windows Vista). But synchronization (through Windows Mobile Center)… only completes on the first connection.
If I disconnect from the PC and connect again, most of the times the “Sync” begins but never ends. In these cases, the only solution has been to erase definitions (both on the PC as on the PDA); if so… the next time I connect it does not have the problem, but of course I have to define again what I want to synchronize.
Forgive me if there is already some forum on this issue, I looked for before placing but I did not find.
Some solution? Many thanks and regards from Portugal.
am also having the same problem .. any aid please ?
Same problem here too - device connects, charges, shows in explorer but when WMDC tries to connect the device continues to charge but drops out of explorer.
If I find a solution I'll report back here, meanwhile can anybody save me the heartache?

Vista Sync Problem
Which version of WMDC are you using?
I am using 6.1.6965 and having no problems. Alternatively, go to the network icon in your task bar after connecting your PPC thru USB and repair connection. This should resolve the problem
I had a similar problem, I reverted to 6.0.6783. Although come to think of it I think this was particular to an app I use, that refused to sync using the later version of WMDC.
Might be worth a try though.
Has anyone applied SP1 yet? What version of WMDC do you end up with?
I seem to remember unticking (and maybe reticking) the "Enable advanced network functionality" on the "USB to PC" applet on "System" tab of Settings.
Can't remember if that's what fixed it.
hey guys, the main problem if ur using an antivirus/internet security or firewall it will be blocked!!
u need to configure ur antivirus/internet security or firewall to allow and solve the sync problems

This fixed it for me too, which is interesting given that the general advice is to *enable* it if there are problems syncing. This is definitely what fixed it for me - the device now always syncs on my recently reforatted XP machine whereas previously it was intermittent (which is odd because I'd never experienced problems before, but hey, it's fixed so I don't care any more)

Hey there guys,
I seemed to be having the same problem anj just solved it...
1 Remove the Enable advanced network functionalty check from the USB to PC connection settings "Start > Settings > Connections > USB to PC".
2 Make sure that the Mobile Device is connected via USB to the PC.
3 Install Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 (either 32bit or 64bit, I installed 64bit)
4 Open Control Panel on the PC and run Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1
5 At the bottom of the application you will see Mobile Device Settings, and within that you will see Connection Settings. Open the Connection Settings
6 Make sure that the second check box named Allow connections to one of the following is checked, and that the Drop Down below is changed to COM 1 (or which ever COM Port your Mobile Device is connected to via your USB cable) and save the changes
7 Disconnect the Mobile Device and Reconnect and hopefully it will work for you.
I realise that this solution might not work for some, but it did work for me, and hopefully it will work for others.

Wrong forum mate
I understand that you do not own an HTC Universal (Universal not means all HTC devices!, it´s a model. One of the best by the way)
Sync Problem

2 Make sure that the Mobile Device is connected via USB to the PC.

you.
I already done all the instruction, disable the firewall and antivirus, i also go to device manager too to update the driver/device, but still couldn't connect. Anyone can help me please.

How did you resolved the issue???? I have an Iolite which does not synch (connects only as a guest), keep getting the message "there is a problem with your connection........"
any help will be appreciated
Even this is a legacy thread there are some people out there (including me) still using Windows Mobile devices (but also using WP7 ...).
Had exactly the same problem and in my case just using another USB cable did it! It seems that WM devices are a bit "fragile" when using a not 100% perfect USB cable

Problems setting up bluetooth GPS to device.

Hello to everyone.
I have wm 6 crossbow , tomtom and a bluetooth gps revceiver (EVERMORE BT-R700).
I can connect it to the device, with password 0000 but I can't manage for TOMTOM to find it. I saw smth in settings like external gps settings. If I have to setup any com port, how can I manage to find the right port and baund speed of this gps device.
I have to say that on bt manual it doesn't say those specifications.
thank you in advance guys
hi There
i got these from some other forum
15. Using File Explorer, navigate to the .CAB file you copied to your SD card and install R-Edit
on your Pocket PC. R-Edit can be acquired from http://www.pocketfleet.homeunix.com/REGEDIT.htm
but you can also Google for any other Windows Mobile 5 Registry Editor.
16. Run R-Edit from the Programs Menu.
17. Within R-Edit, navigate to the registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\GPS Settings"
18. Within the registry key, delete the DWORD entry marked "Hide"
19. Add a DWORD entry called "Group" and give it a Value of "2"
20. Soft reset your Pocket PC.
21. On your Pocket PC, go to Settings > Connections to ensure that the GPS icon is there.
If it is not then I can only apologise but it may not be possible to get TomTom working with
your GPS device. It is necessary for TomTom to see a specific GPS serial port that can
(as far as I can tell) only be set by this GPS connection program. After you have paired
with your Bluetooth GPS device you could try setting an Outgoing port to COM7: as that is
a default COM port that TomTom Navigator can connect to. Do step 22 then skip to step 26.
22. Turn on your Bluetooth GPS and stick it in a location that it's likely to get a signal.
On your Pocket PC, enable Bluetooth and search for new devices. Establish a bond (pair) with
your GPS device and ensure you check the "Serial Port" option.
23. Go to Settings > Connections > Bluetooth. Create a new Incoming COM Port. I chose COM8 for this.
24. Other guides on the Internet tell you to also create an Outgoing port and setting it
as COM7 but doing this would not work on the PPC that I was using so I had to create the
Outgoing COM port on COM0. Either way you need an Outgoing COM port to be set.
If you can set it as COM7: then you should do so, if not, use COM0:
25. Go to Settings > Connections > GPS. Set the GPS communication port to the same
Outgoing COM port that you set above. For the PPC I was using,
I had to set it as COM0: above so will set it here as COM0: also.
The "Manage GPS Automatically" checkbox should already be checked but if it isn't, check it and OK out.
26. Start up TomTom Navigator using the Programs menu and run through the setup procedure as
normal but select "Other Bluetooth GPS" when asked to select a GPS device.
27. TomTom will ask you to now pair your GPS device with your Pocket PC.
We've already done that so click Continue.
28. You will be given a list of ports that your GPS device is likely to be on.
Remember that this is the Outgoing port that we created earlier in steps 24 and 25.
Basically the COM port you set here must be the same as the one you set in step 24 and 25.
29. Select the relevant COM port and then click Next. You will likely be taken straight
in to the map view and with any luck your Pocket PC and GPS device will start communicating and your Pocket PC will show your position on the map.
30. If you made a mistake in setting the COM port that your GPS device lives on,
simply tap anywhere on the screen. Tap Preferences, tap Next three times until you
see an icon that looks like a satellite labelled GPS status. Tap that icon and then tap configure to change the COM port.
i HTH
Kind Regards
What version of TomTom are you using? I had exactly the same problem using TT5.0 but when I upgraded it to TT5.21 the com port became visible in the TomTom settings.

I use TOMTOM 6.0
"external gps" icon is enabled on my settings/connections, this means I didn't had to setup that registry entries and I have 2 tabs to setup there.
"GPS program port" and "Gps hardware port".
I did com 7 at program port and also i've spent several hours choosing different ports in both different tabs but without results. At gps whardware tab, there's also a baund rate which I tried to search wich speed my gps
device has but I failed with google searching manuals/specs.
Also I tried emt gps view, to get the hardware settings but I failed on finding the right baund rate

Hi
I got the same problem with the Crossbow reload 1.5 and TomTom 6.
With Navigator6 I use no COM but Bluetooth setting and I got no problem.
With Beeline GPS I use com7 (Hardware COM) without any problems.
I tried COM7 and any other COM's (logical COM) with TomTom 6 without any success :-(((
please help
thx
OK I got it...
QTEK was in flightmode. TomTom6 do not work in this mode.

Will Not Sync

I've just flashed the new NBD 9.2 rom on my Cingular 8125. But I have a quibble - it doesn't want to sync with my Windows XP laptop. Any suggestions?
By the way, the NBD 9.2 pwns your face. It is the best-looking, responsive ROM out there. If you are particular with how form goes with function, this rom delivers both. It has both elegance and responsive functionality at the same time. Really elegant. Buttonless TouchFLO. Doesn't look cheap, like the TNT series. Sorry TNT dude!
If it's over USB, try this:
Go to Start > Settings > System > USB to PC > Uncheck "Enable advanced network functionality"
If it's over Bluetooth, someone else should chime in and mention how to fix it (I've given up on using Bluetooth in Windows).

USB Connection menu gone!

Hi.
I'm using the TP for quite some time now without too much hassle, but one thing annoys me.
For a few days the selection menu is gone when you connect your TP to USB. Normally it pops up a screen to select ActiveSync, FlashDrive or Internet Sharing mode.
Now, it just uses the last selection and I've never switched on the "Don't ask me again" button.
I've found the USB to PC settings which do about the same, but even if I switch on "Ask about connection type when I connect" it just doesn't. And then, I like the TouchFLO popup better.
Anyone a suggestion on how to get the selection screen back?
Thanks a bunch!
If you go to parameters, connexion, Usb parameters, you need to activate :
- Activesync (synchronise with Outlook)
- Activate the functionnality advanced netwerk
- Ask the type of connexion when connected
Same here.
im too afraid to tick the dont ask again box insase i cant find it again. it does sometimes not appear though
Perhaps the USB cable you use is not optimal.
Do you try also with the original one??
As strange as the menu disappeared, it was there again yesterday all of a sudden.
It appears "fixed" but I must agree, it doesn't show every time... Definately...

Problem syncing with HTC Desktop Cradle

Hi,
Just bought the official cradle from HTC, plugged it into my PC, but it generally won't sync at all, or when it does it loses the connection again after a few minutes.
Most of the time, once connected, activesync will do nothing at all for about a minute, and then comes up with a dialog saying unable to connect
Also, the light around the touch sensitive button still illuminates to show that it's charging. So there's definitely a connection.
Any clues?
^bump
Can anyone help? I've added a bit more info which might help to diagnose.
I also got the original HTC desktop cradle and it works like a charm for me.
But what you could try is
Start -> Settings -> Tab Connections -> USB to PC and uncheck "Enable advanced network functionality".
This normally solves USB connection problems.

You could try to delete the WMDC Partnership when your TP is not connected and than reconnecting your phone. It should as you for a new partnership then and also give you the possibility so sync it with outlook.
