XDA AND BLUETOOTH - General Topics

I have an XDA which only has Infraret and no Bluetooth. Is it possible to use a Bluetooth dongle in my XDA so that I can then transfer files using bluetooth to another phone?
Thanks

Yep. It's not a dongle, it's an SD like this one:
http://www.pretec.com/product/Mobile_peripherals/SDBT.htm

Is this what I need to make my non-bluetooth XDA into a bluetooth gadget?
If so, where do I plug it into on the XDA?

SDIO port.
What XDA do you have?

I have an XDA 1 with no bluetooth. My aim is to transfer games on to my XDA and them beam them across to a mobile phone using bluetooth from my XDA. I need some sort of dongle or adaptor or something to make my XDA bluetooth.

well then you are in no luck. afaik the wallaby is not sdio capable. so there is no way for you to upgrade bluetooth capability. time to get a new machine.

Clearly. Thank you anyway.

Ps3 controllet

Im running the latest revolver 1.3.1 and qas wondering if I can pair over Bluetooth? I dont have a usb adapter

Well you can buy "sixaxis controller" app from the market. ($5 i guess when i bought it). You just need a usb cable to connect ps3 controller to your desktop to change bluetooth settings. Then you're good to go.
you do not need it anymore, it can be done without root (i am rooted). I just connected it via usb turned on bluetooth and it paired itself automatically for me.

Wait this message was directed towards me or alakhai? If me, then all you need to do is buy the app from the market.
Then download "sixaxispairtool" on your desktop.
Connect your ps3 controller to your desktop (using ps3 usb cable) and change "local bluetooth address" to your tablet's bluetooth using the tool.
(You can find your tablet's LBA at the bottom when you launch the app)

Listening to Pandora in car via usb?

Hoping someone can help me with this.... Can I listen to pandora via usb connection on my car stereo? It has a usb port and I can use to mount as mass storage device, but wondering how to/if I can play pandora through it

As soon as you use mass storage the os becomes unavailable. You might try this adapter. I've never used it so I have no idea if it will work but it seems like it should. Also do you have bluetooth on the deck?
http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-ICUSBAUDIO-USB-Audio-Adapter/dp/B000NPKGGK/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8
No bluetooth, the deck is a viole years old and the aux input doesn't work anymore. maybe I'll check this out

It says it's for computers but I don't see why it wouldn't work. And for 14 bucks it's worth a shot. Or you could just get a new deck. lol Good Luck.
Hi Chazel3
I have an unused line out to FM transmitter (connecting to car power socket).
It can be a blast combined with voodoo sound on AntonX's kernel.
See attached image.
Let me know if you want it.

Never liked fm modulators very much, looking for more of a hard line solution, probably end up getting a new head unit with bluetooth, thanks for the help tho!

How can I receive a bluetooth audio stream on my GS3?

I've got an Avantree Saturn bluetooth transceiver hooked up to my home stereo. When it's in Receive mode I can send audio from my GS3 to the stereo.
However, you can also Transmit audio from the Saturn. I want to send the audio from my home stereo by bluetooth to my GS3, so that I can listen with headphones on my GS3. I don't want to use a bluetooth headset. I want my GS3 to receive the bluetooth signal. This will be helpful when I want to listen to the TV (which is hooked up to the home stereo) silently on my GS3.
I can't figure out how to receive a bluetooth audio stream into my GS3. Can anyone help?
Bump
Have you tried putting the device in discovery mode and then have the GS3 do a scan for Bluetooth devices. If the phone finds the device during the scan, it should allow connection and then present whatever options are available when connecting to that device.

Does the s3 have the option of receiving audio streaming? I think only particular Bluetooth devices have that such as stereos

That's the question that I don't know the answer to. I'm suspecting that it can't, since there doesn't seem to be anyone doing it and there's no app to allow it. These posts and others suggest that it's not possible: http://android.stackexchange.com/qu...udio-from-pc-to-android-device-over-bluetooth
I guess that the apps that allow you to stream from a PC use wifi, not bluetooth.
If I had to guess. I would say No. It would be a nice feature. But I don't think our cellphones are designed for receiving audio through Bluetooth!

TF101 as a WiFi to Ethernet adapter?

Is there a way to have the TF101 connect to a WiFi network and then share the connection with other devices using Ethernet? (I already have a USB to Ethernet adapter and a dock for it.) I have modded my TF101 with a high gain patch antenna so it picks up weak signals very well. (Almost as good as my old WA840G with a cantenna on it and much less bulky!)
Main use case would be to connect a pocket AP (modded WR-702N) to it some distance away (to prevent interference) and then connect my other stuff to that.
It would seems that you'd need the driver for the USB device (it might just work because Ethernet should already be included in most kernels) and an app that properly routes traffic through the device. In theory it should work but you need those 2 components.

The Ethernet adapter works fine for connecting to an Ethernet network. So that part is already done.
You could take a look at the clockworkmod tether app or the source code for droidifi to figure out how to make an app to handle the routing part.

yeah you know...USB and JVC Radio

Title says it all...STILL trying to play music via usb. Yes rooted using usb mass storage enable. Yes it charges the phone no music is played I get "cannot play" I have every cable you can think of run behind my dash including iPhone cables , and this standard usb cable is going to be useless if I can't use it for music..can't be this hard.
Nothing from anyone?
Does yours not have Bluetooth? That's how I play mine. Try a Bluetooth dongle if it doesn't.

Its not gonna work like that. You'll have to stream bluetooth or use an aux input. What model radio? I can give you the best solution.

I wish I knew off the top of my head..no not Bluetooth. Its a very good JVC radio though. usb and aux input.
I am a professional installer as well with over 10 years under my belt and I can tell ya if its not a new radio (less than6 months old or so ) it will not work. Only some radios support mtp and its usually brand new ones... if it doesnt work then it never will... use the aux input or get a new radio
I had no issues enabling usb mass storage on my S4 and playing with USB to my jvc... But no luck yet with my s5,kinda disappointing because the sound quality was so much better via usb
