Don't get ruffled if this is off topic...
I just picked up the new ATT 'OGO' email / im client. It's not a phone but does use a sim card. I pulled the sim and put it in my ppc and a treo and it will allow you to get im and email..! for only 17.99 a month!!! no browser and you have to switch chips to use your phone but email was costing me over $60 a month for the last two billing sessions...
The appliance itself is ok but i hate carrying the brick around with me. works on the att gprs network...no account necessary and it's no contract - the hitch is you gotta buy the appliance to open the $17.99 account as it only activates through the device itself...
oh - don't think you can use it outside the u.s and canada...
I rang O2 yesterday to see about posssibly upgrading my XDAII and getting the XDAIIi but the sales operative I spoke to was less than helpful.
"we don't do that phone" was the reply.
I stated that it's on their website and that billboards all over London show it in all it's glory. He then went off to ask his manager and after a long wait, he returned and said they should have it next week!!!
What a shambles, to advertise something then not even allowing you to order it.
Is there anywhere else in UK I can order it from? Or is it just "scotch mist".

I am a O2 select customer (due to the amount i spend each month) (over £50 p/m automaticaly makes you a select customer) and this gets you slightley better upgrade prices. But to get my XDA2i i did the same as i did last year to get the XDA2.
I got our local o2 store to call me as soon as they had a 2i in stock, i then go to the shop and pay what ever they charge, and then a month later or when ever "select" get them in they credit my account with the differance between what i paid in a shop to what they would have sold it for.
they probley do this because they have no answer as to why cant i a select customer have a phone, but jo bogs off the street can get one in most of the o2 shops.
I went into a London O2 shop (Cheapside) on 31 Jan, and they upgraded my XDA II to a IIi on the spot. They had only received the IIi that morning, apparently. Was charged £175 (which I will significantly reduce by selling on the original device). I've been on a £25pm contract since November 03.

I phoned up O2 UK shop, held for 20 mins, and they said they don't have any - probably not for a month or two (even though it appears you can order new ones on-line - but I wanted an upgrade which you don't appear to be able todo without phoning them.
I then phoned the two big O2 shops in Manchester and they said they don't have any either or a delivery date
I'm stuck - seems like London gets the new stuff first.

I phoned O2 on Wedensday 2nd Feb and received my XDAIIi on Thursday 3rd Feb withouth a hitch. My contract is a pay up front yearly 200 mins per month peak for £150ish.
Suggest you speak to another member of staff.

I rang O2 in the UK as I was thinking of cancelling my contract and check out the deal they offered me
XDA 2i for £100, should be £199
They will also take £10 a month off my existing £25 a month tariff and give me the Gold Insurance for £5 a month
So all I pay is for the phone is £100 and tarif & insurance is only £20 a month
The number I called was 0870 2410202, option 4 (Retentions)
Get them before they change their minds

On monday I left me xda II in a taxi :'(
No luck in getting back but rung up o2 to cancle and get a new simcard whch have now got. They said I couldnt upgrade until june which is for a year .. they offered me £160 for xda IIi, but said they couldnt do anything until June.
Perhaps it depends on who you speak to, I dont know what commision they get for selling there phones, perhaps the phone is a price, then a top price which includes their commision, they can knock off their commisison depending on their mood?
I got a s**t motorola MX200 tempory replacement which at least connects to me pc, but not half as good as wm 2003.. Wouldnt mind getting an update for smartphone 2002.. loads of stuff it lacks in.
I'm thinking of jumping on the wagon and was wondering if you guys would kindly share how much you paid for your Fuze, I have been asking several stores and even with premier account the price is 299.99 after rebate with 2yr contract (plus some upgrade fee and of course sales tax) in total would be close to 400.
Please let me know if and how you could get it for less than what I was quoted for. And is there any official statements from AT&T that lists benefits of having premier account?

i started a new 2 year contract, was leaving tmo for att.
its 369.99 if you get it bundled with the car charger, case, bluetooth headset, and maybe some more trinkets i don't remember.
then its 349.99 if you leave all that off.
then -50 with the text or data or something like that rebates...

also, i got it for ~440 aftertax before mail-in rebate. I was only able to get an "early upgrade" with $75 off retail price. Manager was nice enough to waive the $18 upgrade fee for me though. Every bit counts

Came out to $391 before rebate T.T I'm a return it and see if I can buy it from a city that has less tax.
Baught it online @ Premier for $388 Including $18 upgrade fee..I also think tax came around to $24.
Shipping was Fedex 2day for free. Doubt I will get it this week though.

really!? gas is going to cost you more than that tax difference, unless you live near border of WA and OR, then i'd see a reason to do that.
Mine was $367 shipped from AT&T Premier site. There was no upgrade fee, and then I have the $50 rebate to add to it. Bought it this morning, it shipped out this afternoon - comes in on Thursday!! I waited over 2 months to upgrade my phone as I wanted this, or the Sony X1. I couldn't wait any longer, so I gave into this phone. I can't wait.

I think a ~1-1.5% difference would make me drive. Besides, if it's in the way to work, it doesn't matter right?
Mine was $259.99 before the $50.00 MIR. I went into a corporate store in Kansas City Area, and was told they were discounting it $100.00. I asked why and was told: "I am not sure, perhaps revenue or longevity". I didn't ask any more questions and certainly didn't want them to reconsider.

Hey all,
I stopped by on Monday afternoon at an AT&T authorized dealer in Pembroke Pines, FL (South Florida). They had the only gotten in one fuze that afternoon which they sold me.
They charged me $300 plus tax, so it was $318 total, plus the $50 rebate when I send it in.
Not quite as good as $269 before rebate, but I didn't want to say otherwise either when they quoted me that price.
mine came out to 387 after taxes and now i gotta mail off the $50 rebate
I paid 349.99 + 24.15 tax = 374.14 - 50.00 rebate = 324.14
I want the 100.00 discount some of you got. I wonder if I call and complain if they will credit me? I love complaining.

Yep ordered it about 6pm est. Hopefully it gets here friday. I guess that's dependent on when it's shipped also.
I just re-uped my account and purchased the Fuze for $299 online befor rebate. Total came to $327. I'm not really worried about the rebate at this point. Just received the tracking info and it will be here Thursday the 13th.

Cheapest I've found in Canada is $1000 without a contract.
If you can get it for $200, Ill paypal you $300 (Phone + Tax + Shipping), and you can keep any leftover money and send in the mail in rebate to keep for yourself!

I googled the mall, but I can't find a number for the wireless place down there, do you have any of their contact info? Like from the receipt? A phone number would be great.. could double check they still have it for $200 instead of driving down there for nothing.

I found the number of the ATT kiosk, but they are lazy bastards and keep sending the call to voicemail AND the voicemail is full. 301-423-4390 please post if you have better luck getting a hold of someone. I feel like it might be worth the extra $150 to pickup one of these from a real ATT store.
Got a hold of someone on the phone, he "thinks" upgrades are $149, but they have none in stock - go figure.

I took the plunge today and ordered myself an XDA Flint!!!
I'm looking forward to receiving it in a few days!
Does anyone have any tips/advice/info etc on the device?

Main tip is just to play with it for a while and get used to it!
The O2 ROM is pretty good (though Michy's is better!) and remember that changing the ROM will invalidate any warranty with O2.
O2 don't supply any sort of front end (HTC Home, Mobile Shell or PointUI) so you are free to install whatever suits you. In fact the O2 ROM is very basic indeed, which does have the benefit of saving memory!

I'm sure I will waste hours of my life playing with the device when it arrives!!
This will be my second XDA, but my 4th HTC device so I'm used to the basic O2 ROMs!
I think I will stick with the standard ROM until it is out of warranty then flash it with a new from from here! - I've recently flashed my Tytn2 and the ROMs from here are excellent!

I had some trouble getting hold of one!
I have had to migrate my O2 consumer tariff to a Business tariff in order to get one! - The are ONLY available on business tariffs! I ordered it this week!
They will give it you on a consumer contract, you just need to hastle them into it.
I had a high level complaint open with them for over a month, in the end they gave me the Flint on a £35 a month contract 750mins 300text and insurance.
just a one off fee of £99.
I was happy with that, but i cant state how how hard it was to get this device.

I have been migrated onto a business tariff, 300 mins, All O2 to O2 calls free, Free calls to 10 nominated landline numbers, Unlimited texts, 200mb data. for £30 per month, 1 off fee of £99 and a free bluetooth headset! 24 month contract but with another free upgrade after 12 months!
Didn't have any hassle either!!
Get the unlimited data bolt-on asap!, as soon as you start using it to its potential 200mb will be gone rather fast.
Exchange Email is ofc a must have.
You have to try Pocket Lemmings on this device, it owns best game for pda ever!
I started trying to get mine in Nov 2008, this is why I had so much hastle. No one at O2 had any idea what this device was, I kept getting told different things every time I called in. You know how call centres work its quick call turn around, I was getting fobbed off left right and centre so I complained and only managed to get one because at the time it didn’t say it was for Business customers only.
I finally got mine in Jan 09. After many, many calls.
Mines on a 18month contract, and was in effect a upgrade so my 5+ years with o2 as a direct customer is unbroken, I hope they made you aware that as you migrated to business it’s the same as starting a new account so you won’t be eligible for promotions to long standing customer.
