I bought a Sony Errocson HBH-35, it isn't cheap.... but it's comfortable to wear, has great audioquality, 100 Hrs standby, 4-5 Hrs speaktime...
And more important : It worked ever since the first time i bonded it and has been ever since... No matter how i lost connection, out-of-range, softreset MDA, shutoff Headsetprofile, shutoff Headset itself, putting either of them on charge....
As soon als both are available again, they re-connect
And it automaticly transfers the phone conversation to the headset if available...
You don't get any extra features though, it works just as a wired headset, but without cables... But that's more the problem of the XDA/MDA II ...
[Edit: some silly typo's]

I have a HBH-35 which works fine every time even after switching both headset and I-mate off.
I tried with a Jabra and had many problems mainly due to having to have to re-bond all the time.
The HBH-35 may not be the most "modern" but has good battery, quality of sound is excellent and works!! with the I-mate.

Bluetrek BT headset
The Bluetrek is apparently highly recommended by others but has anybody tried it with XDAII?
Currently on sale for $39 at eCost below:

I have a Bluespoon Digital.
It works really well after you get used to it.
Its tiny, and takes a bit of practice to put in your ear but once you have the nack, its awsome.
10 grams, you can barly feel the weight and it is really easy to hear as the speaker is actually inserted in your ear and blocks out other sounds.
I'm very happy with it.
I also like the way the XDA allows you to take the call on the headset or the phone when it rings.

I´m actually using a JABRA 200 BT Headset for 2 weeks and it´s quite perfect.
The batteries are ok, it´s a pleasure to wear it.
On distances over 5m you can hear dropouts in the speaker, but that might be normal.
So I´m happy with it, especially when I use it in the car.

i have a question. i have an imate and a I95cl nextel (non bluetooth-for work)... is their a bt headset that i can use for both? sorry iam new to this ... they say that jabara bt200 has a non bluetooth headset that works on both non 2.5 mm and bt phones ... so 1. can i use at the same time 2. switch ????

I tried bonding my wife's Sony Ericsson HBH-30 with my Xda II, seems to work fine, not sure if it the best though.

If im trying make call XDAII work without Jabra What l make wrong? Help please anybody !

Hve you set the Bluetooth Headsetprofile to "enabled" on the MDA ?

My BT headset
I use the Cellink mini bluetooth headset (BTHS6023 - http://www.cellink.com.tw) with my QTek 2020 (aka XDA II, iMate etc.) and it works ...
Cheers,

yes, that is the actiontec bluetooth mini headset, I just purchased before christmas from BestBuy. It seems to work well, and is nice and light. I modified it by removing the earpiece (that goes behind the ear) and put a jabra eargel over the speaker (fits good) and that works well. The headset is very lightweight even with the eargel it only weighs 15g.

I am using a Jabra BT 250 which is working perfectly with the 1.60 rom....
I had issues with re-bonding with the original 1.05 rom.
It would be even better if the advanced headset features like voice-dial would be working........

Plantronics M3000 or Cellink 6023 (same as so B-Speech?)
Hi,
I heard some people saying that the Plantronics M3000 BT headset is not compatible with the MDAII although T-Mobile Germany is selling it as accessory and says it is working :? Has anybody tried to bond a Plantronics M3000 with the MDAII?
Question: is the Cellink 6023 the same (it looks absolute identically) like the B-Speech headset :?:

I have and it works without a glitch. Obviously, some features of the M3000 don't work but, this is down to the bluetooth stack on XDA II.

Anyone Used the Jabra Freespeak 250 BT headset with an XDA2
I just bought one online. Not yet received it.
I hope its not going to be a complete nightmare when I get it.
Anyone have any experience of using Jabra kit with the XDA II
Rom Version 1.03.00 USA
Radio Version 1.05.12

MDA2 with the Nokia HDW-2 BT , bonding but no sound ...
I'm using my MDA2 with the Nokia HDW-2 BT , they bond but I get no sound on the Nokia earphone. Anybody knows the answer ?

I have purchased a Jabra 200 Freespeak but can't get it to connect to my XDA 11 - anyone got any helpful advice ?
Thanks

I bought a Jabra Freespeak 250 yesterday, works fine, pairs with no problems and maintains the pairing after turning the unit off, resetting the unit or turning the headset off and on.
Not as difficult as I thought it would be

XDA2 and BMW bluetooth

Has any one tried pairing and XDA2 (etc) to the BMW bluetooth kit. I'm hoping it will work for basic functionality because the BMW kit uses the headset profile on my Nokia. (rather than the handsfree profile)
Any one tried it?????
Thanks
Jon
916senna, I tried to get my XDA2 to work with the factory fitted BT in my BMW. The devices pair (Bond) but thats as far as it worked. when I turn on the ignition the phone isn't recognized.
My T68i works fine Will play around with it again soon when I have some spair time, but I think that it's due to a poor implementation of BT.
Hopefully a future Rom upgrade will do sort it out.
I would bet that the BMW uses the Handsfree-profile, that isn't suported by the XDA II
XDA II and BMW bluetooth
I've had the same issue. BMW GB don't want to know and say it's the XDA II. I have just emailed O2 for their response.

XDA, Parrot3 and TomTom3

Hi all
I am new to this forum but I could really do with your wisdom.
I have an XDA 2 that I use for business use.
However I need a system for GPS and a hands free driving kit. I suspect that a bluetooth system is the way forward.
However reading these pages I believe that there have been several issues that have caused a great deal of consternation with the TomTom system.
O2 have really messed me around over the last year with their hands free kit. They have been unable to supply anything and with the new vehicle legislation they have been totally unprepared.
The system that I thought about using would be...
XDA2
Tomtom 3
Parrot CK3000
Has anybody tried it and if so is there anything else that I would need, ie cables, brackets, chargers etc.
Regards

I am using
xda2 with TOMTOM3 Bluetooth.
For Handsfree I use a Jabra Bt250 and it work fine.
Maybe you need to bluetooth Tools
I use a Parrot CK3000 carkit together with my Bleutooth TomTom GPS. It works all very good. The only thing is that the sound of your XDA is not comming via the carkit, but in the future that will be possible (with an upgrade of my XDA).
But for now it works very well.
I have a CK3000 and it works OK on its own. I have had some issues with integrating it with the Car Audio though (new Nissan Primera), but that is another matter.
The other thing I would point out... It is a real pain if you also have a Blue Tooth headset. You need to keep renaming from the Headset to the Carkit and vice versa.
The new version of BT Tools does sort out the multiple headset problem, however..... my CK3000 will not work with the new version, so I am using the older version till this is fixed.
My suggestion may be a fixed mount in the car of some sort, especially if charging the unit is required. That is the way I am thinking of going unless BTTools or the ROM is updated soon.
Thanks for all your help, it is much appreciated.
From what you have said everything should work fine.
With regard to the headset, I am determined to rid myself of this as I suffer from headaches if I wear it too much.
Surely once the Parrot is paired then can it not be set as the default vox unit?
EelcoV
Thanks for that. Its a great relief, however when you say that the sound is not coming from the car speakers is that for the TomTom system? Surely that is a good thing as I don't want my Mozart, Mendelson or Motorhead to be interupted with..."At the junction turn left!"

I am planning to use my Nissan Navara as my main vehicle for the Parrot kit, is the problem you are experiencing a Nissan thing?
Jupiter
Thank you from the moon of Titan...I will look for Blue Tools.
Does anyone know if a charger and bracket comes with either of these systems.

With the TomTom Navigator comes a brodit cradle, which will charge your XDA.

It is in the Primera because of the new Central (N-Form) console. The ISO connectors supplied on Parrot do not fit the Radio, which is built into the console, and there is no conversion kit on the market at the moment.
I was luck and had a Nokia Phone kit installed and intrgrated into the car when I bought it, so I have done a bit of extra wiring to this kit which has made it acceptable.
Check you can get an ISO Harness for your car model/radio.

That's Incorrect, you can buy Tomtom Navigator as a bundle with the TomTom Carkit, this is not the same as a Broditcradle.
I'm currently using a Carcomm XDAII cradle and it's superb. Available in the UK from TotalPDA.
Bluetooth handsfree/GPS
Hi all
Another newbie! I am contemplating buying TomTom3 Bluetooth for use with my xda2 (I want to be able to move it between my family's 2 vehicles). Any thoughts (I am not particularly concerned about the TomTom 3 Bluetooth GPS receiver's limited battery life as I would anticipate using it with a dual pda/gps charger cable)
I believe that there may also be an issue with using Bluetooth GPS and my Jabra BT250 headset together? I see Bluetooth Tools mentioned on here as a potential solution to this - is this a download package? Where can I obtain it?
Any help much appreciated. 8)
I'm using an O2 XDA2 with the standard bluetooth software (ie not using bluetooth tools or anyone elses bluetooth stack).
I use TomTom Navigator 3 with their own bluetooth GPS receiver and I also use a bluetooth telephone headset unit as well.
Both work fine - even at the same time.
I've used both a Plantronics M3000 headset and also a Parrot CK3000 in-car handsfree headset.
Either work fine either on their own or in parallel with the TomTom BT GPS.
The only problemmatical area is that the PDA can only pair with one bluetooth "headset" at a time - so if you want to use both a BT car kit and also a separate BT headset, you need to keep deleting one pairing and pairing to the other.
I gave up and lent my Plantronics headset to someone else - and now I just use the Parrot CK3000 car kit.
Oneday, the XDA2 might support the handsfree profile as well as the headset profile, but for the time being we're stuck with just the latter.
I tried installing bluetooth-tools to see if that would give me a hands-free profile but couldn't seem to get anything to work so I de-installed it quick...!

Lintech car-kit bluetooth adapter

I've got a Nokia 6310 car kit installed at the moment thats been redundant since I got my XDA2. I've heard about an adapter that can be used to convert this to a bluetooth car kit which will therefore support the XDA2 but I'm slightly skeptical as the manufacturers state it supports headset and handsfree profiles but works better with handsfree.
As the XDA2 only supports headset I was wondering if anyone had tried this setup?
http://www.lintech.de/english/index.html
Lintech Bluetooth
Hi slowndes,
I have been using this equipment for some time.
In fact, the adapter supports both handsfree and headset profiles but since the XDAII only supports headset the full capabilities of the adapter are not used.
This means that a lot of echo can be generated and also the noise reduction is not achieved.
In what concerns the bonding and pairing the procedure is faultless.
I hope I have helped you.
Lintech Adapter - for Nokia Cark 91 to Bluetooth
As you will see in my posting under bluetooth ear peices section. I have tried everything, yep I have a lintech adapter if anyone wants to offer me something for it...
However... great product if used with a handsfree profile of a mobile phone, if you have Headset profile your kn*ckered. The Lintech doesn't transfer incoming calls always to the XDA II and you end up ring them back... costing and frustrating....
Get and earpeice, take the gear out the car and have less clutter...

XDAIIs connecting to Nokia CK-1W or Jabra 250 via Bluetooth

I recently purchased a XDA IIs, I'm trying to connect my Nokia CK-1W (Bluetooth) car kit to the XDA IIs. While the phone see the car kit if doesn't pair and no functions are transferred across. With my Jabra 250 the device connects, but can't use the functions button on the Jabra (voice dialing). With Fonix V2.0 running I need to speak into the phone mic.
Appreciate you help....
The XDA IIs has a pretty poor (in my opinion) bluetooth system, if you look on O2's XDA site they give you a list of compatible bluetooth headsets (not many), the Jabra ones definitely don't work properly with the XDA 2s though, I bought one a few months ago and took it back within 4 hours because the crackling through the earpeice was unbearable.

[Q] Desire Z Bluetooth Car Handsfree not working

Hi all.
Quick question. Topic kind of says all. But, every other bluetooth phone I've had has worked great with my bluetooth handsfree that came installed in my car (Ford Mondeo 2006 and earlier modem). Last phone I had was an Orange San Fran, and that worked great with android 2.1. Also, with the HTC Touch Pro 2, that worked great too. I know that's a WM phone, not android, but would imagine HTC wouldn't mess up something that bad?!
Anyway, with the z, I can connect perfect to the headset. It works in that when I call, radio/cd volume turns off, but the sound comes through the headset, not the speakers... all other phones work fine with volume through car headset speakers. Also, tried doing a test call to see whether the microphone is taken through the car microphone, or the handset microphone, and appears to be handset microphone. When I put the phone to my mouth to talk, it's much clearer and loader than if I put it down and speak in the car mic. So sounds like nothing is actually transferring to the bluetooth in the car...
Is there anything I cam do to ensure it's working perfecly.
Anyone else have any input of what I can do to get it to work?
Thanks alot
Sent by my phone
